Get the Most from Training

Embarking on your Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) journey with Gracie Concepts® Network is both exciting and demanding. As a modern organization with deep roots in the Gracie tradition, as taught by our Grandmaster and mentor Pedro Hemetério, we offer a unique opportunity to learn about this ancient art. To maximize the benefits of your training, you need to be dedicated and consistent and understand effective practice strategies. Professor Franco has redesigned our online university program and will continue to add techniques and knowledge to ensure the instruction remains of the high quality established by the network.

Gracie Concepts® - Red Line: The 54-Lesson Program is essential for all members, regardless of their background or level. This course provides GJJ practitioners with the most important techniques and knowledge. Once you have achieved a brown belt, you can progress to the 'Alternatives' program, which builds on the previous course to provide you with additional techniques and knowledge.

Set Clear Goals: Begin with our 23-Lessons course, known as “Gracie Fundamentals”. No previous BJJ or martial arts experience is needed. You could even go to the first course without using a BJJ kimono, however, the Gi is recommended to be used at every lesson, since it protects you also from the sweat of your training partner.

  • Short term goal: Once you have done the 23-Lessons course at least 4 to 5 times in a full rotation, you will be granted to obtain your blue belt level. This may sound simple, but it is not, since you will undergo new challenges, like improving your stamina over the training period, learning new techniques and sharpening the already knowing.
  • Long term goal: These also to achieve higher belt ranking and master the complete program. Beginners and advanced students are learning the same techniques, with the important difference that advanced students will apply them with a higher understanding and much more effectiveness. Experience is the key, and the knowledge of the details will make a difference.

Consistent Practice: Is the key in martial arts. Regular practice helps to reinforce learning and improving muscle memory, which is crucial for mastering complex movements and increasing reaction time, under real life-dangerous scenarios. Remember that martial arts training is a lifelong journey. There is always something new to learn or something to improve.
